The idea of the save of the year is clearly subjective, and it's a little ridiculous that you'd have to wait until the playoffs to witness it, but alas, it may have happened Tuesday night in Sunrise as the Florida Panthers hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Just over halfway through the second period, a puck bounced off the end boards, which Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky initially overcompensated for. The puck was passed across the front of the crease to Lightning defenseman Matt Dumba, who tried to backhand it into the net. Have a look at what happens next as Bobrovsky dives across the crease with his back turned but his glove pointing towards the play:

At times during the Russian goaltender's career, it seems like he's playing at a superhuman level and this is a big reason the Panthers should be considered one of the favourites to come out of the Eastern Conference.

Although the Panthers are extremely talented, it would seem they'll only go as far as Bob will take them.
