Capitals' Wilson makes surprising decision on 6-game suspension
Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson was handed a 6 game suspension on Friday for high sticking Toronto Maple Leafs forward Noah Gregor, something that I'm sure many people were surprised with even though he's a repeat offender in the National Hockey League
Now, according to Greg Wyshynsk, a senior NHL writer at ESPN, Wilson and the National Hockey League Player Association will not be appealing his 6 game suspension as they have declined their opportunity to do so; take a look. NEWS: Tom Wilson of

It's a little surprising Wilson will not be appealing the ban, but it's probably the right choice given how the Morgan Rielly's appeal was handled.
Plus, given the fact that this is Wilson's 6th suspension since 2017, he probably wouldn't have won the appeal anyway.
The 6 game suspension handed down by the Department of Player Safety is tied for the longest of the season with Detroit Red Wings forward David Perron.
