Fighting is and will always be a part of the game of hockey on that there is no debate. Sometimes though emotions not only get the better of the players on the ice, but the fans in the stands who are watching the game. This was the case during last night's game three between the Washington Capitals and the New York Rangers. Not only was this fan fight disruptive, but it caused the delay in some fans, leaving the game.

A video circulating on X this morning shows a Washington Capitals fan in a Tom Wilson jersey egging on New York Rangers in a Henrik Lundqvist jersey; Take a look.

I'm just tryna leave bro #Capitals #Rangers

It's not known what started the altercation, but the fan in the capitals jersey wanted a piece of the fan in the New York Rangers jersey. The only reason the fight didn't really take off as expected is because it appears that the Rangers fan was being held back by the collar of his jersey.

Meanwhile, fans around the spectacle wanted to see the two fight. I get emotions are high because it's a playoff game, but if you're gonna pay a lot of money to be in the arena to watch your favourite team play risk getting kicked out for something like this. I'm never gotten that idea. You want to do it in the regular season? fine but playoff games cost a lot more money and this just seems silly in my opinion. It would've been fun to see the two pairs actually be able to go at it though if that's what they wanted. The person that was holding the Rangers fan back, even though they did the right thing really put a damper on the situation as well based on all the other heckling around them.
