Former Norris trophy winning defenceman P. K Subban was known to say some outlandish things when a microphone has been in front of him, this has only been amplified since he has changed careers into a studio analyst for ESPN.
During tonight's first intermission of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins Subban was sharing the panel with Hall of Famer Mark Messier and Steve Levy. Subban was pressed by Levy to say a joke he was holding back. After some brief antagonizing by Levy "Why don't you say it now on TV?" Subban went ahead with his joke."I'm not a carpenter but I carry around a hammer"
If that wasn't bad enough, Levy went ahead and oddly added.
"Yes, you do I have heard."
The executives at ESPN will likely be calling a meeting for this inappropriate moment. Subban didn't read the room, forgetting he was on a live broadcast.
Subban signed a three-year contract to become a full-time studio analyst back in November 2022. The 34 year old, had a thirteen year career in the NHL that ran from 2009-2022, playing for the Montreal Canadiens, Nashville Predators, and New Jersey Devils.
