Referees fall for embarrassing dive by Brad Marchand
By all accounts Brad Marchand is the type of hockey player you love to hate. The Bruins captain is skilled, tough and at times knows how to play the system, which brings us to game two of the Bruins series against the Toronto Maple Leafs and a play that screams classic Marchand.
Marchand who knows exactly how to turn the tables with his antics took what can only be described as a colossal dive after Maple Leafs Tyler Bertuzzi flinched at him late in game 2.
Marchand should be reminded that he isn't playing soccer and this isn't the wild west, it's a hockey game and those sort of antics will be remembered and payback of any sort can and will happen.
Let's not mince words, Marchand is a top notch player worthy of the praise and accolades he's collected, and even though he's made a career out of moments like this, it takes one wrong moment for him to wonder whether or not whether his behaviour was a good idea.
After the final whistle Bertuzzi let his former teammate know what he thought of him.
