Tuesday night, in the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens game, there was a controversial kneeing penalty. Nick Suzuki of the Canadiens collided with Tim Stutzle of the Senators behind the net. As Suzuki went to hit Stutzle, he moved and the knee of Suzuki tripped him up. Stutzle went down in what looked like a lot of pain and Suzuki was given a two-minute minor for Kneeing.

The controversy begins when Tim Stutzle, who looked like he was hurt after the collision, stayed on the ice for the power play. Anytime a player goes down hurt but then plays right away will draw the ire of the opposing team and the Canadiens we're not happy. After the game Brendan Gallagher spoke out about Tim Stutzle's play.

He's a great player. I've played against him two, three years now. More than half the games we've played against him, he's laid on the ice and is right back out the next shift.

He lays on the ice, he acts like he's hurt, he sells the call, he's on the ice that same power play. There's kids watching, we're role models, and if I was his teammate of his I'd tell him to smarten up. It's not a good look. Very talented player, very good player, he needs to stop laying on the ice. It's embarrassing.

The two meet up one final time this season on April 23rd. It will be interesting to see what comes of this.
