Edmonton Oilers provide update on Evander Kane's condition after suffering serious cut
During the 2nd period of tonight's game between the Edmonton Oilers and Tampa Bay Lightning, Evander Kane suffered a gruesome injury. After being slewfooted, Kane's wrist is cut by the skate of Pat Maroon.
Blood could be immediately seen covering the ice, before Kane jumped to his feet and rushed to the bench. It was reported that screams for help could be heard from the Oilers dressing room after Kane was cleared from the bench.

Edmonton Oilers General Manager, Ken Holland has now provided an update on Kane's condition.

He has a deep cut on his wrist. He was stabilized and has gone to the hospital. Kane will have surgery on his wrist. He will be OK.
Luckily medical staff was able to get Kane stabilized and that he should be alright. This was a scary scene and credit needs to be given to the medical teams for their work.
