Extremely sad news for Mike Bossy's battle with cancer
It's with a heavy heart that we write this article. As fans of Mike Bossy it pains us to hear the news that the New York Islanders legend had been sent home to be with family during late stages of his battle with cancer, for his final moments. Randy Timmins from Everything Hockey shared the following information:
Prayers tonight for the legend, Mike Bossy, who has been sent home to be with his family in his final moments. 🙏
Bossy, 65, had been diagnosed and was valiantly battling lung cancer. The player turned analyst announced his diagnosis in October of 2021.
Bossy is one of the greatest players of all-time. He scored 1126 points in just 752 career games. Bossy's storied career included for Stanley Cups, a Conn Smythe, a Calder Trophy and the Lady Byng on 3 different occasions.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Mike and the entire Bossy Family.
