LA Kings arena staff refuse to give the Oilers nets or to turn on the lights for practice
The gamesmanship in the playoffs is always something to behold. Not only between teams, but sometimes it even extends to arena staff as well. We saw that already this week when the Colorado Avalanche staff left the previous game's score on the video board for the Predators' practice.
Today with the Oilers looking to practice in Los Angeles, they ran into a stubborn arena staff. With the Oilers practice set to start at 11:30, the Oilers took to the ice a little early to get a jump on things. Unfortunately for the Oilers they were met with resistance from King's arena staff.
The arena staff refused to grant the Oilers early access to any of the Staples Center equipment and even the lighting before their scheduled time. It will be interesting to see if the Oilers can use this as a form of motivation for themselves for tonight's game.
