Report - NHL Insider overhears that Patrick Kane to Toronto is a done deal
The NHL Trade Deadline is less than two weeks away. March 3rd is set to be a very exciting day as playoff bound teams look to try and position themselves in the best place possible to make a push for the Stanley Cup. With that deadline looming rumors have begun to swirl that one of the biggest trade pieces on the market is Toronto bound.
The biggest fish at this year's deadline is Patrick Kane, and earlier this week Carlo Colaiacovo a former NHL Player turned NHL Analyst shared that he was told the only two teams were on Kane's approved trade list, one of them being the New York Rangers and the other being the Toronto Maple Leafs. After the Rangers completed a trade to add Vladimir Tarasenko it all but eliminated them from the Kane Sweepstakes.
Now the plot has thickened even further, as NHL Insider Dave McCarthy overhead a very bold statement in the press box in Toronto.
Overheard in the press box:
What number is Patrick Kane going to wear? Nylander probably isn't giving up 88 right?
The addition of Kane would give the Maple Leafs an extremely potent offense, and despite some holes on their back end, Kane could certainly help the Leafs outscore any defensive issues.
