The Vegas Golden Knights used to be known as the lovable misfits of the NHL. Viewed as if they were pieced together, without the intention of winning. An underdog story that everyone loved to route for, but that quickly changed.

Since losing in the Cup Finals in their inaugural season, they've become the villains. Circumventing the cap like the Tampa Bay Lightning of old. They've also made bad coaching decisions, like firing Gerard Gallant and then hiring Peter DeBoer.

This Robin Lehner issue creates another issue for the team who are headed for a clear downturn.

Let's not forget Kelly McCrimmon's latest hit, trading Max Pacioretty for nothing. This after moving Marc-Andre Fleury for a nothing as well. McCrimmon's decision-making is questionable, it makes you wonder if he is truly the right man for the job.

Meddling by ownership is a problem and seeing as they've moved on from Nick Suzuki, Tomas Tatar, Evgenii Dadonov, Paul Stastny, and Marc-Andre Fleury, with nothing to show for it, it deserves a closer eye.

The only talent remaining, are assets related to their 2022 Third Round pick, who became Seattle Thunderbirds forward Jordan Gustafson.

Jordan Gustafson Dobber's Scouting Report

Just irresponsible. Scott Wheeler ranks Vegas' prospect 22nd in the NHL, and with Vegas' current asset mismanagement, it would be expected they draft terrible too. Combined with the fact that agents have begun to warn their clients about playing in Vegas, the culture Kelly McCrimmon has build, just proves it's time for him to go. 5 seasons and 3 head coaches later it's about time the GM loses his job.

Welcome to hockey in the desert.
