Veteran forward turns his professional tryout into an NHL contract
Jimmy Vesey has a contract to officially return to the New York Rangers. The deal is a one-year contract worth $750k AAV. Vesey had been in Rangers camp on a PTO after spending the 2021-22 season as a member of rival New Jersey Devils.
Vesey has performed well in the four preseason games he was in, racking up a goal and two assists while playing well on both sides on the ice.
In six NHL seasons with the Rangers, Devils, Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres, Vesey has accumulated 135 points (72G-63A) in 422 games.
Vesey was originally drafted by the Nashville Predators in the third round, 66th overall, of the 2012 NHL Draft
