The National Hockey League has had a lot of faults and things wrong with the game over the years, but, still people watch and continue to root for their favourite teams as they should. However, I think there are a few things we would all change if we could.
Now, according to Elliotte Friedman and 32 Thoughts, there's a part of the game some NHLers want to see changed, the shootout.
According to Friedman, there are a handful of active NHL players that want to see the shootout either be changed or taken out of the game completely, including Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, Tomas Hertl and David Pastrnak. Although Pastrnak wants to see the rule changed to allow the game winning shootout goal count for a players stats.
Honestly, I think the shootout never should've been implemented to begin with, it gave teams a chance to earn the loser point and doesn't really add much to the game as a whole. It essentially just drags the game out and makes the standing closer and more complicated.
If more players would get behind this, it would be good see how the NHL as a league would react and if this would go any further.
