Over the past few weeks, there has been plenty of trash talk from the United States towards Team Canada, but at the end of the day, Canada got the last laugh after a dramatic 3-2 overtime victory on Thursday.
Not long after the win, Brad Marchand took his opportunity to fire shots at Matthew and Brady Tkachuk as well as the United States team, with the entire country of Canada celebrating yet another brilliant victory on the big stage.
That wasn't held to just the team either, as a Canadian radio host called in to an American radio station to troll the United States after the victory, with Tony Marinaro putting on this fantastic performance:
The hosts of the Jones and Keefe show certainly took it in stride, with Marinaro, playing 'Curly' taking his chances to call out Matthew Tkachuk, Auston Matthews and the entirety of Team USA after their defeat.
While most of the talk between the two sides throughout the tournament was all in good jest, there were certainly some sore spots hit within the trash talk, it was ultimately Canada that had the last laugh, with the political tension between the two countries making brilliant content on the ice over the past two weeks.
However, there will be a chance for revenge 12 months from now in Milan with the 2026 Olympic Games, and with both teams expected to be at their best once again, when the NHL takes centre stage to continue growing the game, and with other teams set to join the field, this should be yet another fantastic tournament.
