While Team Canada have made it through to the do or die stages of the 2025 World Juniors, their idiotic decisions have clearly hurt them throughout the tournament to this point, with two huge losses in the round robin phase.
Before it even began, Hockey Canada were being hammered in the media for their decision to leave out Zayne Parekh, Carter Yakemchuk (both of whom called out the team after a loss to Team Latvia), Andrew Cristall, Michael Misa, Michael Hage and many others, which calls into question the decision making of Head Coach Dave Cameron.
Now, those question marks have continued after his latest call, as he has left Carson Rehkopf out of the lineup just days after managing one goal against Team USA, a puzzling move that has been questioned from the beginning of the tournament.
Clearly, everyone else is confused by the move as well, with hockey personality Jeff Marek just as shocked by the call as those Team Canada fans that are desperately wanting this team to succeed.
Not only that, but Team Canada have cancelled several practices this tournament, and after a 4-1 defeat heading into a must-win game, Scott Wheeler has revealed that they are yet to take the ice since the defeat to Team USA.
Ultimately, Dave Cameron was a questionable choice for the role from the outset, and throughout this tournament and the leadup he has proven that he's not fit for the position, and if the team can't make the gold medal game, a change will be needed for Hockey Canada.
