As the Calgary Flames struggles from last season have continued into this year, the team has to consider major changes - and some players like Nikita Zadorov clearly want out.
A couple weeks ago when Zadorov made his trade request public, fans and media around the league have been circulating rumours connecting him to several teams. Now, for the first time since the trade request, General Manager Craig Conroy has spoken to the media.
Given his statement, it seems that Conroy is going to accommodate the trade request, but will still only do so in the best interest of the Flames. This means he's likely in no rush to make a trade, and is hoping the price of acquisition will increase.
For now, Conroy also commented on Zadorov's professionalism and play throughout the trade request, and he'll continue that effort for the duration of his time with the Flames. According to several insiders, teams interested in trading for Zadorov currently include the Leafs, Stars, Canucks, Coyotes, and Islanders.
