Sometimes in and around the game of hockey, things happen that leave you shaking your head, this is one of those moments.
According to a viral post on Facebook, a pair of Edmonton Oiler fans decided the right thing to do to an 8 year old kid was make fun of him all game for wearing a Sidney Crosby jersey when the Oilers took on the Pittsburgh Penguins a few days ago
Sadly, we're seeing this more a more across arenas in the National Hockey League. This is a disturbing trend to say the least.
I get jeering fans that wear the opposing teams jersey, it's a part of the game. However, harassing an 8 year old to the point of tears is deplorable and unacceptable.
There's an unwritten rule, no matter what, you leave kids alone. The only thing this proves is that Oiler fans don't know when to stop.
No kid should have to deal with anything like this while attending a game. These adults need to be held accountable and responsible.
