As a player ages and gets closer to the end of his career, they are allowed to be more selective about where they want to play. If a situation comes along that would be a good fit, they'll sign, if not, they're comfortable retiring.
According to Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic, veteran centre-man, Tyler Bozak is in this exact situation. Bozak is still without a contract and if he doesn't get an offer from a few select teams he'll likely call it a career.
Bozak, 36, as earned the right to be a little more selective when it comes to the fit on a potential new team for both him and his family. Last season, the two way centre-man had 3 goals and 9 assists for 12 points in 50 games played for the St. Louis Blues.
If this is indeed the end of the line for Bozak, he leaves the game a Stanley Cup winner who collected 170 goals and 291 assists for 461 total points in 814 games played split between the Toronto Maple Leafs and St. Louis Blues.
