With the Leafs reeling and losing their last four games, the team is equally worried as the fans and the media. According to reports, the Leafs held a team meeting after their brutal loss to Boston.
The meeting must not have worked, because the team followed up their loss to Boston with another to Buffalo, once again throwing away many opportunities to win the game. Now, an insider is reporting the details on their meeting which didn't seem to inspire the Leafs.
According to Elliotte Friedman, the message was essentially that the Leafs are perceived as soft, and can be bullied by other teams around the league. Evidently, the controversial acquisition of Ryan Reaves hasn't changed the perception of the Leafs, nor has a mentality of team toughness been adopted by their stars.
With this indictment of being a soft team being circulated through the locker room, the Leafs are in a position where they must stand up to a tough opponent tonight, their rival Tampa Bay Lightning.
