The preseason is upon us and with it, a full day of games across the league as teams take a look at what they have early. This also means players are trying to make an impression to stay at the National Hockey League level, with that comes some dangerous collisions.
Today, the Minnesota Wild take on the Colorado Avalanche in Colorado and midway through the second, a Minnesota Wild player is left bloodied after a high hit: take a look.
Midway through the second period, Wild defender Daemon Hunt was chasing the puck behind his own net with Avalanche forward Tanner Kero coming the other way, Kero catches Hunt with his elbow.
Hunt goes down and stays down while trainers attend to him, when finally gets up, he's left bloodied and disoriented as a result of the hit.
There's no place in the game for this type of hit at all, injuries happen, but there's absolutely no need to stick your elbow out on an unsuspecting playing, this kind of play has always been horrendous.
