Jakub Voracek's playing days may be over as he takes on a new off-ice role
Despite still being under contract with the Arizona Coyotes for one more year, longtime NHL forward Jakub Voracek's playing days are more than likely over.
The 34-year-old has been dealing with lingering concussion symptoms and only appeared in 11 games in the National Hockey League last season with the Columbus Blue Jackets, before trading him to the Arizona Coyotes at the deadline.
On Saturday night, it was revealed that Voracek would be reuniting with his former Philadelphia Flyers teammate Jaromir Jagr in Czechia and has become an assistant coach for Rytiri Kladno.
"Jakub Voráček will be joining #Rytři Kladno's coaching staff. The forward remains under contract with the Arizona #Coyotes." Hockey Worldwide said in a post on Instagram.
The Kladno native appeared in no stranger to his hometown team. Before coming over to North America in 2006 to play junior hockey, Voracek spent several years in the Kladno youth system and even suited up for one game for their men's team during the 2005-06 season.
