Report - Ron MacLean to finally be fired from Hockey Night in Canada as only 'one person is safe'
Ron MacLean was once considered by most Canadians as an important part of their Saturday evenings. MacLean used to make up half of the Coach's Corner crew, with Canadian legend Don Cherry. That was until a 2019 comment ultimately led to Cherry's termination.
At the time of Cherry's termination many assumed MacLean would stand behind his long-time friend. That wasn't the case.
Now amid declining ratings and lower than ever fan support it appears Hockey Night in Canada is finally on Sportsnet's radar. According to Howard Berger, there is only one member of the entire team who is safe.
We may not recognize the Hockey Night In Canada panel next sea- son. Based on what I'm told, only Elliotte Friedman is safe from the changes and cost-cutting measures on the horizon.
The new Rogers NHL deal has been an absolute disaster for the company and with desperate times setting in MacLean may finally get the axe he deserves. Do you think MacLean should be brought back?
