Full details of Noah Hanifin trade revealed
Earlier tonight news broke that the Vegas Golden Knights were looking to acquire Noah Hanifin. This news came after veteran defender, Alec Martinez reportedly broke bone in his foot. Vegas was considered a late entry into the trade talks but were clearly serious on getting something done.
After hours of speculation a deal has finally come to fruition and the full details of now been revealed. Darren Dreger of TSN sent out the following details.
Call underway. Vegas acquires Hanifin from Calgary for a 1st round pick,
Miromanov and a Conditional 3rd, upgrades to a 2nd if VGK win a playoff round. Double salary retention. Hearing Philadelphia is the broker.
In the deal, Vegas will receive Hanifin at just 25% of his full salary.
Vegas getting Hanifin at 25% cap hit of $1,237,500 is some nifty work. Allows them to go get another forward, as they're trying to do
It has become very clear that the Golden Knights have made the decision to do everything possible to attempt to repeat as Stanley Cup champions. This deal clearly shows the team is all in and is looking to solidify themselves as a favorite in the west.
Vegas currently sits in the first Wild card spot, but after a very strong week they have to be considered one of the favorites in the Western conference.
