Agent and Insider Lash Out at Each Other over John Gibson Report
It's not the first time it's happened, but this one is certainly interesting. A hockey insider and an agent are trading barbs after a report on goaltender John Gibson.
The Report
Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff recently appeared on the "Nasty Knuckles" podcast and said that Gibson had told the Anaheim Ducks he would never play for them again.
The Response
Kurt Overhardt of KO Sports, the agent for Gibson, then released a statement completely refuting Seravalli's claim, saying it was "false, unjust, and inflammatory." He added that Gibson is "honoured" to be with the Anaheim Ducks.
Seravalli wasn't done there, though. He pointed to another time that Overhardt disputed a report of his. This was in 2020 when Seravalli said that David Ludwig, and agent with KO Sports at the time, was leaving to join the Arizona Coyotes. KO Sports released a statement denying the report. Not long after, the official announcement was made by the Coyotes that Ludwig had joined the team.
You have to love the offseason drama!
