Matthew Tkachuk played very little time in the Four Nations Finale, and now his brother Brady has given an unfortunate update on his status moving forward.

The Four Nations Face Off was a huge win for the NHL, as much media attention has surrounded the tournament, with the Finale being one of the biggest events in hockey history as Canada pulled out a dramatic 3-2 overtime victory in the end.

After the game, Brad Marchand put his opponents on blast, calling out the antics of the Tkachuk brothers following their trash talk, with Matthew playing just a few minutes in the game due to an injury suffered in the first USA-Canada matchup.

Unfortunately for Matthew and the Florida Panthers, his injury may be extensive, as brother Brady addressed the situation after the game, with very little positivity coming from his comments.

"Obviously he battles through absolutely everything, and, yeah, I don't think it's too good. I guess we'll have to wait and see what ends up happening, but I know he was really disappointed."

Brady isn't a doctor so his comments could bring unnecessary worry for the Florida Panthers and their fans, as we won't truly know the extent of that until he gets looked at, but according to reports, Matthew was limping badly as he left the arena after the game.

The physicality and the way the players put their body on the line was commended by many fans throughout this tournament, but unfortunately that has its side effects, and now we are seeing those with the injuries piling up.

That's the life of a hockey player on the biggest stage however, with Matthew and others accepting the risk to play for pride and for their country on the biggest stage, so now, we simply hope that he won't miss too much time as the Panthers look to become back-to-back Stanley Cup Champions.
