Sean Durzi made a funny admission about him and his teammates on the blueline regarding forwards on a recent podcast

As much as a hockey team needs to function as a unit, there can always be division in the ranks. In the case of defenceman Sean Durzi of the Arizona Coyotes, he's not a fan of forwards. He added his teammates on the blueline agree with him.

Appearing on the "What Chaos!" podcast, the 25-year-old Durzi said the Coyotes defenceman and goalies meet regularly just to talk trash about their forwards.

"We actually do a D and goalie dinner once a month here in Arizona. And the main topic of conversation is how much we can't trust the forwards. It's pretty funny, actually."

Durzi was then asked if he was actually being serious. He made it very clear that he was.

"Oh, 100 percent. It's our favourite conversation to have. It's always with a nice steak, you know, and maybe a bottle red win, but it's a good laugh always talking about the forwards."

This topic all started when Durzi, who's been playing professional hockey since starting in the AHL in 2019, was asked if he thought he could play forward. He didn't seem to think he would have much trouble with it.

"Easiest position in sports," said Durzi, after nodding his head while taking a sip from his mug.

Durzi was drafted in the second round, 52nd overall, by the Los Angeles Kings in 2018. After parts of three seasons with the AHL's Ontario Reign, he became a regular with the Kings. In June of 2023, he was traded to the Arizona Coyotes for a 2nd round draft pick. Durzi is currently having a good season, with 6 goals and 23 points in 35 games, as well as a plus-8 rating.
