Breaking News - Arizona Coyotes could move as early as next season to a new City
Will they stay or won't they stay? That's has been the question that has plagued Arizona Coyotes fans and Gary Bettman alike for years. Gary Bettman has done everything in his power, but it might be all for naught.
According to sources things in Arizona are going so poorly that ownership of the team is walking around going door to door trying to convince fans to vote in favor of the new entertainment facilities. But according to those well placed sources it currently doesn't appear like the NHL is in a positive position.
According to NHL Insider Frank Seravalli if things go bad in the upcoming referendum the NHL will likely waste no time in hightailing it out of Arizona.
Seravalli on 960 says he could see the Coyotes moving as early as next season if the Tempe vote goes bad (and by the sounds of it, the team is worried)
According to Seravalli if the team does move it will likely be to the Houston area where a potential ownership group and NHL Arena are both already in place. If this happens it could be the last straw for Bettman, who has spent millions of dollars of NHL money trying to keep the team in Arizona.
All the while Houston has a much larger and financially stable market.
