For the first time in exactly one month, there's been some activity on the waiver wire.

On Wednesday, the Arizona Coyotes placed British forward prospect Liam Kirk on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.

"Per source, the Coyotes have placed F Liam Kirk on unconditional waivers. It was a good story while it lasted but Kirk's time in AZ is over." PHNX Sports' Craig Morgan said.

Kirk, 23, became the first-born and trained player ever drafted out of England when the Coyotes selected him in the seventh round, 189th overall back in 2018.

The Rotherham, England native spent the majority of the 2022-23 season between the ECHL's Atlanta Gladiators and in Finland's Liiga with Jukurit. In 25 games with Jukurit, Kirk had 19 points (seven goals, 12 assists), 12 penalty minutes and was a plus-five.

Kirk will be staying in Europe, as Craig Morgan shared that he has signed with HC Litvinov in the Czech Extraliga for the 2023-24 season.
