This afternoon, the Anaheim Ducks are visiting the Arizona Coyotes and to say the first period was entertaining would be an understatement.
Ducks defender Radko Gudas stepped up on Coyotes forward Michael Carcone and levelled him with a hit that at first glance appeared to be high, in fact the officials called a 5 minute major on the play, but upon further review, the penalty was wiped off the board completely, take a look.
You don't see this very often, National Hockey League officials getting a call correct, but it looks like this hit is text book shoulder to shoulder, which is not a penalty.
Being able to call a 5-minute and review for things like this is a really good thing. National Hockey League officials are atrocious most of the time, but if you call them out, you also have to give them their due
