Throughout the year, Bruce Cassidy rotated Swayman and Ullmark for starts but in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, they went with Jeremy Swayman for the majority of their games. The two have formed one of the best goaltending duos in the leagues, but all good things must come to an end and next season, the Bruins need a true number one goaltender - whether it be Jeremy Swayman or Linus Ullmark.
However, it appears that Ullmark may find himself on the outside looking in and could be moved this summer. According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, four teams have been interested in acquiring Linus Ullmark, with two others who may reach out over the next month. Those teams are - the Carolina Hurricanes, Detroit Red Wings, Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, New Jersey Devils and Ottawa Senators.
Ullmark, a native of Lugnvik, Sweden, appeared in 40 games this season for the Boston Bruins where he had a 22-10-7 record along with a 2.55 goals against average, a .915 save percentage and two shutouts.
If there are already this many teams who have expressed interest in Linus Ullmark, we could be heading towards a bidding war and that's good news for the Boston Bruins who would like to maximize what they can bring back in a trade involving their Swedish netminder.
Only time will tell on where Linus Ullmark will end up for the 2024-25 season, but as we quickly approach the draft and free agency, trade talks will begin to heat up even more.
