It may not kick in until next season, but Rasmus Dahlin is showing us why he just earned a massive new contract with the Buffalo Sabres.
The state rivalry between the Sabres and New York Rangers got off to a quick start tonight, with the Blueshirts taking an early 2-0 lead. Dahlin must not have been happy with the way things were going, as he decided to catch Filip Chytil with an absolutely picture-perfect hip check that sent the Czech head over heels.
Dahlin's new deal is worth $88 million dollars over eight years. That's an $11 million annual average value, which puts him among the highest paid players in the league. Great hit!
