Hockey legend Jaromir Jagr spent the final season of his National Hockey League career with the Calgary Flames and got to play with Johnny Gaudreau, who passed away on Thursday night, along with his brother Matthew, after they were struck by an alleged drunk driver while riding their bicycles.
Gaudreau even assisted on Jaromir Jagr's final goal in the National Hockey League, which came against the Detroit Red Wings on November 9th, 2017. Gaudreau and Jagr were on a 2-on-1 when the future Hall of Famer received the puck on a beautiful feed by Johnny Hockey, and roofed it past Petr Mrazek.
In a social media post on Monday, Jaromir Jagr shared a tribute to Johnny Gaudreau, sending his condolences to the family. Jagr also highlighted Gaudreau's beautiful pass to him on his final NHL goal and said that he gave hope to everyone he played with.
Tributes will continue to pour in from all over the hockey world in the coming weeks for Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew. There's no doubt the Calgary Flames and Columbus Blue Jackets will have something special planned to honour Johnny Gaudreau during the 2024-25 season and many are wondering if his #13 should be raised to the rafters in both cities.
