Jack Drury forced to leave Game 4 after dangerous hit from Ryan Pulock
It was a rough start to Game 4 of the first round Stanley Cup Playoff series between the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders.
Just over three minutes into the game, Carolina Hurricanes forward Jack Drury was chasing down a puck in the Islanders' zone when Ryan Pulock comes in and hits him from behind.
Drury was in a lot of pain while laying on the ice, but none of his teammates came to his defense after quite a dangerous hit and he headed down the tunnel to Carolina's locker room. For his part, Pulock was ushered to the penalty box by the officials and given a two-minute minor for boarding.
Not long after the hit and leaving the game, the Carolina Hurricanes announced that Jack Drury would not return to the game after sustaining an upper-body injury. The Hurricanes, who already have plenty of injuries on forward with Andrei Svechnikov, Max Pacioretty and Teuvo Teravainen and now to Drury.
