The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Carolina Hurricanes had been locked in a playoff style game since they dropped the puck earlier tonight. With tensions running high and Carolina leading 3-2 the Leafs were handed a gift.
With time winding down in the third period and a scramble in front of the net, Michael Bunting poked the loose puck to Auston Matthews who would put it in the net to tie the game at 3, but the whistle had blown, leading to this call:
Initially the call on the play was ruled no goal, but after a brief review, the ruling changed due to the continuation of the play and it became a tie game at 3-3

Thankfully, order was restored and just 32 seconds later when Sebastian Aho scored to make it 4-3, before Carolina added an empty netter to take the game 5-3
