Tonight the Chicago Blackhawks faced off against the New Jersey Devils in what turned out to be one of the most physical games of the year. In the first period, Blackhawks prized rookie Connor Bedard was on the receiving end of a huge hit for the first time of his career. The hit, which was delivered by Blackhawks defender, Brendan Smith left Bedard shaken and clutching his face.

Bedard didn't return to the game and obviously Blackhawks fans were concerned. After the game Blackhawks provided the following update on Bedard's condition.

While Richardson provides very little details it does sound like Bedard will need to once again by seen by medical staff. Hopefully for the Blackhawks and the sake of the league Bedard doesn't miss significant time.
