Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid is no stranger having the spotlight on him, ever since he entered the National Hockey League as an 18-year-old phenom in the 2015-16 season.

This season, another 18-year-old phenom will begin his National Hockey League career - Connor Bedard of the Chicago Blackhawks, the 2023 first-overall pick.

Recently, Connor McDavid was asked about the pressure Bedard will feel as he enters the league, and the Oilers captain said that he'll be able to handle it with no problem. McDavid added that it won't take Bedard much time to adjust to being an NHL player.

"It's a really, really hard league. It's a league full of grown men that have been playing for a long-time, and you know what? He's a really special 18-year-old hockey player, and it'll take some time. I don't expect it to take all that much. He's that good." McDavid said.

There's no doubt that Bedard will have a lot of pressure on him, especially when it comes to helping the Blackhawks turn things around and become a Stanley Cup contender once again. If he's supported with the right players around him, the Blackhawks will be in good shape for the future.

Connor Bedard is set to make his National Hockey League debut on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET against Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
