Perhaps considering how it looked, this isn't the worst update the Colorado Avalanche could have provided. However, it's still not great.
Avs Coach Jared Bednar gave an update on the condition of Artturi Lehkonen today after Lehkonen crashed head first into the boards.
While Lehkonen was responsive at the hospital, Bednar says the damage is still severe. Lehkonen will miss "weeks."
"[He's] not great. We're still gathering information, but he's going to miss weeks. No timeline yet."
Meanwhile, Bednar wouldn't say exactly what was wrong, only that it's not a head injury, which is good news. That said, it sounds likely that Lehkonen is dealing with broken bones somewhere and needs time to heal.
All the best to Lehkonen in his recovery.
