It would never be nice to read negative comments in the media, it would make it even harder to take when the source is so close to home. Colorado Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen was called out in the Finnish media by an NHL commentator.

That commentator just so happens to be Artturi Lehkonen's father, Ismo Lehkonen.

Rantanen broke out of a three game slump with a big three point performance in the win.

After the game the Finnish native let the world know he heard the criticism and he's not a fan of it.

"One of our Finnish NHL player's dad was talking shit about me in media, that I didn't train last summer like I used to do. He was making things up. That was for him. If you talk shit, it's going to come back at you.»

The 27 year old Rantanen is third on the team in scoring with 13 goals and 34 points in 28 games this season.

Artturi Lehkonen has been out of action since early November with a neck injury which occurred during a collision with Seattle Kraken defenseman Jamie Oleksiak, causing him to fall headfirst into the boards.

The 24 year old Lehkonen scored 3 goals and 8 points in 12 games this season.

Rantanen reiterated that the comments made by Artturi's dad doesn't effect their relationship at all.

«Everything is totally fine.» «Me and Art are totally good friends and teammates,»
he said. His problem is solely with what a Finnish analyst said.
