Columbus Blue Jackets lose rookie sensation with what could be a serious injury
The Columbus Blue Jackets just got hit with more injury news as their NHL rookie sensation just went down with what could be a serious injury.
The Columbus Blue Jackets were visiting the Seattle Kraken on Sunday night. It turned out very bad night for Columbus, not only did they lost the game 4-2 but it appears like they have lost rookie Adam Fantilli for the near future.
The center left the game in the second period, Fantilii appeared to suffer the injury when hitting Kraken forward Jared McCann into the boards. After making the hit, Fantilli hobbled off the ice and into the dressing room.
After the game, Blue Jackets head coach Pascal Vincent said the team still didn't have an update on the severity of Fantilli's injury.
«We don't know yet,» Vincent told reporters. «Questionable for the next game, but I don't have a full report.»
Adam Fantilli left Climate Pledge Arena tonight using crutches and wearing a walking boot.
#CBJ coach Pascal Vincent said he was «questionable» for the final leg of the road trip Tues in St. Louis.
That seems more doubtful than questionable after seeing him leave.
The rookie forward has been one of the bright spots for fans to cheer during another losing season for Columbus. Fantilli has scored 12 goals and 27 points in 49 games while averaging 15:42 in ice time.
