Patrick Kane comment on teammates nearly getting into a fight at practice
Patrick Kane has been around the NHL for a very long time and he knows exactly what it takes to win a Stanley Cup, having done so 3-times in his career. Unlike his time with the Chicago Blackhawks, Kane is now a member of the Detroit Red Wings and the playoffs are no longer a sure thing. Now Kane finds himself a member of a team battling to make their first playoff appearance since 2016.
From February 17th to the 27th, the Red Wings were one of the hottest teams in the NHL winning 6 consecutive games. The team appeared to be firmly cemented into a Wild Card position, but as the calendar turned to March things changed for the Red Wings. In their last 7 games the Red Wings are 0-7-0 and have been outscored 32 to 11 in that stretch, including being shutout twice.
Yesterday at practice tempers finally boiled over as Red Wing teammates' Ben Chiarot and Lucas Raymond grew frustrated with each other and eventually had to be separated by teammates.
After the incident, Kane was asked his thoughts on his teammates actions and Kane did not disappoint in his response. As a respected veteran Kane knows what it takes to win and he enjoyed seeing the fire out of his teammates.
It's not a bad thing. I'd be more worried if we were walking around here all smiles, all happy.
The Red Wings currently sit tied in points for the final Wild Card spot with the New York Islanders, but have one less game to play. If the Wings can't sort out their troubles soon, it might end up being another wasted season for a team who was looking to make a major push this season.
