The Edmonton Oilers' start to the 2023-24 season went from bad to worse on Saturday night as they blew a 2-0 lead to the Winnipeg Jets, losing 3-2 in overtime for their fourth loss in five games.

Even worse for the Edmonton Oilers, captain Connor McDavid did not play the final four minutes of the third period or in overtime and recent video has many wondering if he's suffered a major injury.

In the video below, it appears as if McDavid says to TD Forss, Head Athletic Therapist for the Edmonton Oilers, that he "tore something".

The Oilers have yet to issue any statement on Connor McDavid's health status, but after the game, when asked by reporters, Head Coach Jay Woodcroft said that he would have an update and be able to provide more information on Sunday.

"It appeared to be muscular... just to me as I watched during the play. we'll see. I'll have more information tomorrow." Woodcroft said.

The Edmonton Oilers, with or without Connor McDavid, will be back in action on Tuesday night in Saint Paul to take on the Minnesota Wild.
