An insider has reveled when Evander Kane is expected to be able to return to the Edmonton Oilers lineup after his recent surgery.
Four days ago, Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane revealed The extent of his injuries at the Edmonton Oilers media day, now an insider has confirmed not only has Kane had surgery for his injuries, but when they expect him to be available to return to the Oilers.
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, Kane had surgery for his injuries on Thursday and while he likely won't be out for the entire regular season, he won't be available until January at the earliest.
Kane, 33, played in 77 games for the Oilers last season, wracking up a total of 44 points including 24 goals and 20 assists.
While this is both good and bad news for the Oilers because they would get some cap relief by now being able to put Kane on LTIR, replacing his production, especially in the bottom 6 might be rather difficult until he's able to return to the lineup.
Either way, the season hasn't even started yet and the Oilers are down a body that's been rather important. That's not exactly the way any team wants to start a fresh season.
