With the Florida Panthers attempting a miracle series comeback against the heavily favoured Boston Bruins, energy of the underdog has been a storyline in propelling the Panthers locker room, led by Matthew Tkachuck. Now forcing a game seven against the Bruins, some fun stories of the Panthers locker room have begun surfacing.
Paul Maurice relayed a hilarious superstition that the team has developed, where the entire team changes their underwear together before overtime. Maurice seems shocked, but must be satisfied with the results in recent games.
The story in question occurred during game five, with the Florida Panthers down 3-1 in the series, but were able to pull off a stunning overtime victory in the famously difficult home of the Bruins, TD Garden.
The Panthers have the energy of an underdog that believes it can take out the favourite - a true David vs. Goliath story. After an uncharacteristic blown lead in game six, the Bruins seem to be reeling, while the Panthers are playing to win.
