Kings prospect placed on unconditional waivers for contract termination
For the second time in the last five days, a prospect in the National Hockey League has been placed on unconditional waivers by his team.
On Wednesday afternoon, it was revealed that the Los Angeles Kings have placed defensive prospect Kim Nousiainen on unconditional waivers for the purpose of contract termination. Nousiainen is expected to return to Europe for the 2024-25 season.

LA Kings have placed dman Kim Nousiainen on unconditional waivers. He's heading back to Europe.
Orig drafted in 2019 (RD4), eventually signed an ELC and played the last 2 seasons in AHL Ontario. However, only suited up for 37, then 52 games. Didn't work out here."
Nousiainen, 23, was selected 119th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft and came over to North America to join the organization at the conclusion of his 2021-22 campaign in Finland.
In 52 games thiss season for the American Hockey League's Ontario Reign, the Leppavirta, Finland native recorded nine assists and 26 penalty minutes. He went on to add two assists in eight games during the Calder Cup Playoffs.
If Kim Nousiainen clears unconditional waivers on Thursday at 2 p.m. ET, he'll have the final year of his entry-level contract terminated and will become an unrestricted free agent.
