Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury found himself penalized on Thursday night for an incident that probably shouldn't have been called.

Late in the first period of Thursday's game between the Wild and Anaheim Ducks, Frank Vatrano was skating deep into Minnesota's zone in an attempt to take the puck away from Jonas Brodin.

As Vatrano comes into the Wild zone, he skates right into the stick of Marc-Andre Fleury, which hits him square in the face. Vatrano would grab then his face and bend over, which led to the official closest to the incident to raise his arm and give Fleury a two-minute minor for high-sticking, which the Wild goaltender didn't agree with at all.

"Not sure how Fleury is supposed to avoid Frank Vatrano skating face first into his stick?" SpokedZ on X said.

Fleury's attention is in the corner, where his teammate has the puck and he has no clue that Vatrano is going to be coming in and cutting through the crease in an attempt to get the puck. While some will say Fleury needs to be more careful with his stick, Vatrano needs to be more aware of where he's skating as this could have been avoided pretty easily.
