The Minnesota Wild had a really good night on Thursday, defeating the visiting Montreal Canadiens 3-0 in a shutout. However, there were also some unfavorable reports that were eventually made public on Friday.
Mats Zuccarello, a veteran forward with the Wild, will be out of the team's lineup for three to four weeks following surgery for a lower body issue. After teammate Brock Faber's slap shot struck Zuccarello during the first period of Friday night's game, the treatment was absolutely necessary.
Although Zuccarello's lower midsection appeared to be hit by the bullet of a shot, no information on the procedure has been made public.
John Hynes, the Wild's head coach, unfortunately, disclosed that additional players of the Wild will be out of the lineup too due to injuries suffered.
Joel Eriksson Ek is categorized as day-to-day after also missing the game due to an injury affecting his lower-body. Additionally listed as day-to-day is defenseman Jonas Brodin, who did not appear in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Montreal Canadiens.
Goaltender Filip Gustavsson and the Minnesota Wild had a good victory against the Habs, but there were also a lot of issues the team had to deal with, such as a slew of injuries.
