The Montreal Canadiens have made the decision to send one of their regulars to the minors.
Arber Xhekaj has not played in the last seven games due to an upper body injury. He was taken off of the Canadiens' injured reserve list today and sent to the Laval Rocket.
"The Canadiens have activated Arber Xhekaj off IR and loaned him to the Laval Rocket."
Xhekaj took part in Montreal's pratice today for the first time in a while. It's likely the period in Laval will be a conditioning stint until he's ready to get back into the Habs' lineup.
Xhekaj was hurt on this hit from Ivan Barbashev in a game mid-November.
