Insider reveals Canadian team trying to give away former 30 goal scorer to avoid buyout
The NHL buyout window is in full swing with many teams looking to complete trades to help them avoid buying out players. This window encourages teams to get creative to try and avoid being stuck with dead cap space. Now according to Frank Seravalli the Montreal Canadiens are looking to move on from a former 30 goal scorer.
The Montreal Canadiens have reportedly placed Mike Hoffman on the trade block. The Canadiens are reportedly not looking to receive anything in return in hopes of getting out of Hoffman's contract.
Hoffman only has 1-year remaining on his contract and carriers a cap hit of $4,500,000 this year. A player like Hoffman could offer a team a very good addition to their powerplay, but unfortunately Hoffman's reputation could make his move more difficult.
