Hockey is one of the most violent sports on earth, and while the NHL is seemingly moving away from the style of brutality that was once so relevant, there's always going to be physicality on the ice. In the AHL, we see players battling for their lives and their futures, and in the past few years we've seen a few incredible fights, with Friday seeing one of the best between veteran Vincent Arseneau and former draft pick Kale Kessy.
However, the fight brought some criticism and a viral video with it, as fans were criticizing the idea of fighting with helmets on, potentially leading to broken hands and fingers.
This came after a video from the aftermath was immediately released showing the 32-year old Arseneau looking at his broken fingers as a result of the incredible fight, before simply snapping them back into place a moment later in a moment that's not for the feint of heart to watch.
This was a shocking moment on the ice for those in attendance that got a good view of it, and while it's certainly not the worst injury we've ever seen on the ice, it was a brutal way to end what was a brilliant fight between two veterans. We may never see either of the players involved in the fight at the NHL level, but they've provided plenty of entertainment in a Friday night AHL clash in a moment that could be highly viewed on social media.
