Nashville's Zachary L'Heureux made easily the dirtiest play of the year against the Wild, and now he'll spend three games on the sidelines after his actions.

In the Nashville Predators final game of 2024, the team would come up short against the Central Division rival Minnesota Wild, but it was one play in particular that stood out as incredibly dirty and unnecessary.

During the matchup, rookie Zachary L'Heureux was caught up with Jared Spurgeon, with the forward then slew-footing Minnesota's captain, with the NHL's Department of Player Safety calling for a hearing shortly after.

Now, the DoPS has announced their decision on social media, and unsurprisingly, the 21-year old has been handed down a three-game suspension, the first of his NHL career thus far.

However, L'Heureux has a history of this, as he was suspended nine times during his three year run with the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL, and now, he has tallied three suspensions in just over 100 games between the NHL and the AHL since turning professional.

In that time, his suspensions add up to 42 games over 12 incidents dating back to 2020/21, and while he's not as big a target for fans as New York's Matt Rempe, it's safe to say that he's already building a major reputation.

In just 33 games of his rookie year, L'Heureux has already accumulated 32 penalty minutes and a -7 goal differential, and with the team struggling, this is exactly what they don't need.

The Predators are full of veteran leaders, so hopefully they are able to reign him in and teach him the way to toe the line rather than stepping over it, but if not, we may be looking at a player that has a very short shelf life in the NHL.

Was this too much, too little or just right for Zachary L'Heureux's suspension?
